The lectures from 1 to 12 helped me discover new techniques, and learning the Double Diamond method was the most important. I used it throughout my project. It set a structured plan to complete the project, allowing me to explore problems in depth before refining designs and ideas. Starting with group work was also very important, as it allowed us to share ideas and come up with things I wouldn’t have thought of on my own. Discussing ideas out loud was vital, since university life is such a broad subject, this process helped me narrow down my ideas and focus on the most important aspects. Doing user research was vital when getting user experiences and problems. I wasn’t sure I would enjoy this brief, but after researching sixth-form students as my target audience, there are many different challenges related to university applications and uncertainty about going to university especially choosing courses, i had these problems when i was applying to university as i was always told to go for a more traditional course where i would be able to get a job, but thankfully i choice digital design and chose to follow my true passion for design. My research highlighted how impactful a well-designed app would be for those applying to university.

I am very happy with my outcome for Envision and think that I hit the brief, as I identified a significant problem for 6th form students, which was the stressfulness of finding and applying for courses. Even though there were challenges with prototyping, I had fun making this idea and was excited to see it come to life. I think my branding showed the app idea and the journey to university life very well. I think my app was successful overall, and the most effective feature was the Tinder-style course selection. It provided an interactive and engaging way for students to explore their options, making the decision-making process feel less overwhelming and stressful. Adding AI into my app as an AI lecturer enhanced the user experience by providing personalised guidance, real-time answers, and support for students navigating university decisions. Overall, I liked this module and I think that I learned valuable skills and user experience tips that I will be using when I start placement in the coming months.
