in this lecture, we discussed how illustration and some of the most influential illustrators, we looked at how illustrations can create personality and convey meaning. we also look at all of the different styles of illustration from hand illustration to mouse illustration which we can use in the future. Designers must consider using illustrations as they can provide quick and fun ways of presenting information.

Marion Duechers is a Scottish illustrator and author who is known for her brightly illustrated children’s books which are recognisable for hand lettering, marion has worked with many major design and advertising companies such as the Royal Mail stamps, carluccos and the Imperial War Museum which allowed her to get a gold and silver award at the art directors club New York. she is well known for her book “Let Make Some Great Art’ which are art activity books for Laurance King which make art accessible and fun for all ages, this book has won many awards and has been published in 22 languages.
Her interest in books on art education and closing the gap between entertainment and learning. Marion has an innovative approach to combining visuals with hands-on activities encouraging people of all ages to embrace and enjoy the creative process discover their inner child and learn new and fun skills.
David Hockey is a painter, printmaker and photographer and was an icon in the pop art movement of the 1960s and is considered one of the most influential British artists ai the 20th century. hockey styles use bright vibrant colours of mostly the subject area of nature and landscapes. David Hockney is primarily hand illustration but more recently he has dove into using Photoshop for picture making and prints, this is so that the prints can be reprinted and the colours are exactly what the printing machines have but in 2008 Hockey said the online tools are too slow and the computer takes 15seconds for the stoke to appear and but the speed with changing colours and different brushes was an advantage. he has also used screen-based drawing methods like and iPad and even an iPhone in recent years.
