This week, we reviewed the smartwatch app, completed in two weeks. For this critique, I completed eight screens to show my class. This is important to complete as I get an outside perspective on my work and also improve the usability of the applications. for this app critique, I created the branding so my class could see the app as a whole with a logo and a name.

Overall i think that the critique went very well with little feedback. the main feedback that was given to me was to make the directions page easier to understand as there i too much information on the screen, so it was suggested that i split up the screen into 2 screens so that it would be easier to understand. for the first screen i wanted a birds eye view of the map that had the locations of both users so the user could get a realistic view of how far away they are from each other but also if they would be faster getting a taxi or walking etc. for the second screen i just put the directions to this user on the screen rather that having the map too as the watch screen is small and it will have a better user experience of this are split as it will be easier to understand and be more accessibility.

I really liked getting feedback from the critique from my class members as they gave be very positive feedback on the design, colour, and the buttons. this gave be faith in the design and the idea of my app.

Accessibility Improvement

I wanted to add an SOS button to every screen improving the navigation and safety as users will have instant access in emergencies. Users don’t need to navigate back to a specific screen. This feature ensures that, in high-pressure situations, users can quickly alert emergency contacts without confusion or delay. It also reduces stress, promotes user confidence, and makes the app more accessible, as the SOS button is always within reach, allowing for faster response when every second counts.
