In this article the group conducted a survey which the information highlighted the importance of the discovery phase in UX, but through this survey they saw that many organisation struggle to use discovery phase in UX as of the lack of time ad lack of time management. 75% of organisation stated that they conduct discoveries but only 20% of these organisation use this for every project.

One of the main problems of not using discovery is the time pressure to deliver, as they have a limited understanding of the value. UX practitioners are more likely to report the success of products if they conduct discoveries. 52% of respondents said that their last project was successful, and 83% who carried out discovery in their last project and it was successful. Most of the teams are usually groups of 4 and have a time scale of 2 weeks, these groups usually have UX researchers, a designer and the project managers. The most common way for discovery is stakeholder interviews, competitor analysis and data analysis. Having a short discovery phase can be because to budget, but rushing through this can lead to uninformed design solutions or decisions. This article showed that taking time for proper discovery work can greatly improve the project and ensure that the teams have an understanding of the problem instead of just jumping into the solution.
