Overall, I enjoyed this lecture as I was introduced to presenting information more interestingly and understandably. We would have to create a visual way to present information as there is a lot of data that will be harder to read. Data can take form in diagrams such as pie, lines, and bars i will have to represent the data correctly to show the data effectively. we looked at designers who represent data such as Nicholas Felton, James Round, Brendan Dawes and Paul Button. Data representation does not have to be boring these can be presented more interestingly and artistically to catch the viewer’s eye. Data visualisation can just consist of numbers and typography.

We were tasked to recreate a bar chart and a pie chart to work out how we could present and design data in a visually interesting way. this will allow me to understand how to represent information on my dashboard

<aside> 📖 Designing with data explores how designers can turn data into more effective user- centered design.A key theme through the book was the idea of data entered design. Which is when designers use data to inform design choices. While valuing creativity they will need to find a balance between quantitative data and impactful design. The's book is helpful when designin the dashboard as it gives strategies to enhance design of data and create creativity. I would like to finish reading the's book as I found it very interesting and want to learn more as being dyslexic it was hard for me to understand data and was easier to understand it when it was designed Ina more and visual interesting al matter.

During the lecture we discussed Nicolas Feltron which i found his visualisations interesting so i wanted to to find out more about home ans his work. Nicolas Feltron is known for his work in data visualisations especially with the project Feltron annual reports, which is a document of personal data presented visually interesting. he has an innovative approach to what he designs and tells a story with the data he collects. this data includes daily activities, locations visits, social interaction. his work explores how data can be transformed into interesting and compelling narratives and visual experiences, he has influenced this field with his unique perspective and storytelling paving the way for a creative approach. feltron has worked as a data visualisation specialist for apple and Facebook and helped shape how data is communicated from personal analytic and large Digital platforms.

Jer Thorp

i wanted to research more data visualisation artists and found Jer Thorp. Jer merges scientific know-how with artistic vision turning raw numbers into shapes and textures allowing users to interact with them. Jer works with many ranges of disciplines and media to help information systems speck to the experience of what it is like to be a human. Jer emphases the importance of drawing as it is a thinking tool and a design tool and says that Visualising data id an act of mapping etch the world map.
