During this class, we learned about presentation skills for our upcoming investor pitch, where we have to present an idea for a digital product and be able to answer questions at the end of the presentation. This presentation has to be 5 minutes long. I am not very good at presentations I get very nervous but after this lecture, I am a bit less nervous about the pitch presentation.
I decided to take a look at The 3 Magic Ingredients of Amazing Presentations - Phil Waknell - Ted talk where he explained the three key elements for an impactful presentation
- audience - you have to tailor your presentation to the needs of the audience and the expectations of the audience
- speaker - show your passion and experience allowing the presentation to be more authentic and engaging
- Transformation - aim to change the audience’s beliefs, feelings or actions through your message.
These elements will work together to create a memorable an impactful presentation which is essential for effective communication. I will take these points and use them within my presentation to engage the audience and make me more confident about what I am presenting.
